Kurt Angle Reveals Names He Has Heard As Potential Opponents For Ric Flair's Last Match

What does Kurt Angle think of "The Nature Boy" returning to the squared circle for one final match?

The WWE and IMPACT Wrestling Hall of Fame legend spoke about the in-ring return of 73-year-old Ric Flair during an appearance on "The Two Man Power Trip Of Wrestling" podcast for an in-depth interview.

"I think it’s awesome," Angle said of Flair's return. "I think that if he’s going to do it, I’m not sure who’s going to wrestle."

From there, he named a couple of wrestlers that he has heard whispers of possibly being the opponent for the former leader of the Four Horsemen, as well as why he thinks Flair and the promoters of the event should go a different direction in terms of the other man who will be in the ring for his comeback bout.

"I was told possibly Ricky Morton [of the Rock 'N' Roll Express], or maybe even Jay Lethal," Angle stated. "But I think Ric needs to go with a younger wrestler, somebody that can carry him a little bit better."

The former Olympic gold medalist would go on to elaborate on his thought-process, stating that a younger talent would be better in terms of the quality of the match, as well as from an aesthetic perspective, noting another older legendary talent would result in the match coming off like "two old men wrestling."

"If he goes with an older wrestler, it’s going to look a little bit like two old men wrestling," he said. "I think that Ric needs a younger talent if he wants to have a great match."
