Wade Barrett and KUSHIDA took to Twitter on Saturday to deliver their final respective promotional pushes for the NXT TakeOver 31 special event streaming live on the WWE Network on Sunday, October 4, 2020.
For his part, Barrett, who will help call the action on commentary for the 31st event in NXT TakeOver chronology on 10/4, commented about the NXT Championship showdown between reigning, defending title-holder Finn Balor and Kyle O'Reilly.
Barrett recalled his own battle against Balor from 2015 in Singapore where he lost their only one-on-one meeting and questioned whether or not O'Reilly will suffer the same fate on Sunday night.
"Pic from my only ever singles match vs current NXT Champ Finn Balor (Singapore, 2015)," Barrett wrote in the tweet, which featured a photo of him holding Balor in a rear chin-lock from their 2015 bout. "Shortly after this [photo] was taken, Finn caved my chest in with the Coup de Grâce for the 'W'."
Barrett concluded, "Will the same fate befall Kyle O'Reilly tomorrow night at NXT TakeOver? 7pm ET."

Meanwhile, KUSHIDA posted somewhat of a cryptic tease ahead of his singles match against The Velveteen Dream, claiming he may finally climb out of the "unidentified suffocation" he has been under since coming to the United States of America to work for WWE via their black-and-gold brand.
"Since I came to this country, I have held my breath," KUSHIDA wrote on his Twitter page on Saturday. "I have been fighting unidentified suffocation."
KUSHIDA's tweet concluded, "At TAKEOVER tomorrow, Time to exhale."
