Latest On AEW-WBD Media Rights Deal; Possibility Of AEW Launching New Show On Fox

-- As AEW President Tony Khan has been hinting at for weeks, a new media rights deal between AEW and Warner Bros Discovery appears likely to be announced in the coming days or weeks. However, fightfulselect.com recently reported that there are more angles at play that could have major ramifications to the industry.

-- While the WBD-AEW deal is going down based on Khan's comments, speculation has begun that AEW programming could also be appearing on another network and that network is Fox, which just ended their partnership with WWE and Smackdown after a five-year run.

-- The report adds that Fox may still be looking to dabble in the pro wrestling scene even though the relationship with WWE sourced even before Vince McMahon's exit and may be looking specifically towards some ancillary AEW programming. With AEW recently trademarking Shockwave and Khan teasing "shockwaves", it has naturally led to rumors that a new program titled Shockwave could be headed to Fox, either on the station itself or within their network, for example FS1. While WBD has exclusivity clause in effect, it apparently runs out at the end of the year which would open the way for a new, non-exclusive agreement.
