WWE legend John Cena's in-ring career is winding down with only three appearances left on the docket - Monday's WWE Raw at Madison Square Garden, Survivor Series WarGames towards the end of the month and then December's Saturday Night's Main Event which will be his last match.
Cena has made things interesting by winning the WWE Intercontinental title which complicates the situation a little as he would logically drop the belt before ending his career while also affecting his participation at WarGames, where he was previously believed to be competing in the men's match.
On Wednesday's Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer indicated that on the upcoming episode of WWE Monday Night Raw in New York, he expects a "hell of a show" with the rest of the men's WarGames match lineup to be finalized as it currently sits at a three-vs-three match.
Meltzer added though that Cena is now not expected to be part of the match despite previous discussions to feature him alongside CM Punk, Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso in what would have amounted to a "dream team" scenario. Meltzer's words were "I can tell you that is not happening" and that the idea of Cena competing in the actual WarGames match is "not even close" (to happening).
Meltzer then went onto indicate that a match between Dominik Mysterio and Rey Mysterio is also not expected to take place at Survivor Series which he speculated could mean that Cena and Dominik might be booked for a rematch. In fact, originally, their singles match for the title was supposed to take place at Survivor Series but it was moved up to this week's Raw instead.
