Latest On Bryan Danielson's Future With AEW; Now Officially A Free Agent

-- Bryan Danielson suffered a loss to Jon Moxley at last night's AEW WrestleDream PPV which effectively ended his full-time wrestling career as per stipulations. Fightfulselect.com reports that Danielson specifically requested to lose to Moxley to end his run as a full-time performer.

-- The report added that AEW physicians legitimately disallowed Danielson to compete at Blood and Guts but approved him to wrestle in "regular matches" as he worked his way towards retirement. Danielson's interviews leading up to last night where he communicated his health status were also true and by the time WrestleDream came along, it was so bad that Danielson even felt as if he should have not done a couple of those lead-up matches.

-- As for this contractual status, Danielson has been working for AEW without a deal for a "number of months" and he has no additional non-talent contracts either, meaning he is completely a free agent without any additional obligations to AEW. A jump to WWE at this time is unlikely as Danielson has stated both publicly and privately that he doesn't envision going back right now and from AEW's side, the hope is that he will still wrestle occasionally while taking on other duties whenever he is ready to do that. It appears before all that, Danielson is going to "fix" his neck and likely undergo surgery to accomplish that.
