Latest On Lucha Bros Leaving AEW For WWE; Multiple Offers Reportedly On The Table

-- Earlier this week, it was reported that the contracts of both Rey Fenix and Penta - the Lucha Bros - were coming up due later this year and the early indications are that neither wrestler was going to stay in AEW and instead make the jump to WWE. Fightfulselect.com has more details on their situations.

-- According to their report, Penta's contract is up for first while Fenix's deal is expiring around September. Sources note that AEW wanted to re-sign them both but that the negotiation process kept getting delayed by the wrestlers themselves. With delay after delay, it soon became apparent to AEW that neither was interested in re-signing.

-- Within WWE, there have been discussions internally about bringing in both Penta and Fenix into the promotion and it is believed that the two are presenting themselves as a package deal and are not really interested in joining NXT but would likely still need to report the WWE Performance Center in Orlando.

-- Interestingly, multiple sources close to the Lucha Bros claim that the duo has been fairly open in claiming that there has already been talks with WWE and that there is preliminary offer on the table similar in terms to what has been offered by AEW. Of course, WWE is not confirming those talks or even commenting on it given they are both still under agreement to AEW. PWInsiderelite.com later added that it is likely that there has been contact "via third parties" but nobody will ever admit that on the record. Their report speculated that WWE would possibly be interested in the Lucha Bros to bolster their NXT brand ahead of the debut on the CW Network later this fall.
