-- AEW and Warner Bros. Discovery continue to negotiate a new media rights TV deal for Dynamite, Collision and Rampage and there have been multiple stories that have emerged ranging from stating that AEW is disappointed in the offer that WBD has on the table for their programming to discussion around whether AEW could potentially expand to a weekly six hours of programming. In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer offered more insight into where negotiations currently stand.
-- According to his report, the exclusivity period that WBD has sole rights to negotiate with AEW is coming up due in "several weeks" (other reports noted it would be July) and the figure that is being talked about is said to be "considerably more" than the estimated $110 million per year that AEW would need to take the company into a profitable range. Meltzer was kind of vague on the exact value, suggesting that there is "talk" that the number could be as much as 50% and possibly double more than the current offer on the table. Either would open up potentially "tens of millions" of dollars more for the company to sign talent or expand in other areas of their budget.
-- The report also noted that the two sides are actively discussing a "streaming component" and that any new deal is very likely to include streaming services in some fashion.
