Latest Update On Andrade's Departure From AEW & Speculated Return to WWE

-- Over the past few weeks, it has been revealed that Andrade El Idolo has finished up his commitments with AEW and was headed back to WWE and a new report from fightfulselect.com corroborates that news, stating that he has an "agreement with WWE", albeit it is still unofficial.

-- The report adds that Andrade's status with AEW was an up-and-down roller coaster ride as he was originally signed to a two year contract but had injury time tacked onto the end of his deal, something that is quite normal in the industry. Andrade was very open about his contract status, telling people that his agreement with AEW would be running out sometime at the end of 2023, but he was heard mentioning that he was planning on staying with AEW and even went so far as to push for Ric Flair to join the promotion.

Andrade has finished up with All Elite Wrestling and has an agreement with WWE. The path there was a rollercoaster.

-- However, by the end of last year he had changed his stance and told wrestlers that he was headed back to WWE and several within AEW actually expected him to show up on WWE programming almost immediately after he departed. The report added that several people who worked closely with Andrade said it was a "frustrating process" before he finally let the company know in the days before Worlds End that he was definitely leaving.

-- AEW CEO Tony Khan has publicly left the door open for Andrade to return to his promotion, while WWE officials declined to comment on whether he has signed a contract with them. However, what is known is that Andrade's wife Charlotte Flair was a key figure who pushed for him to return to his old stomping grounds.
