Sean Ross Sapp recently addressed the state of WWE’s backstage morale during a Fightful Select Q&A (via Ringside News), comparing the current TKO era to Vince McMahon’s final years with the company.
According to Sapp, while the atmosphere isn’t “perfect,” it is far better than it was between 2016 and 2022. He noted that during that stretch, he spoke to numerous people in WWE who described themselves as “miserable,” which he says is no longer the case.
Sapp also explained that he often asks talent off the record about sensitive topics, including scandals like the lawsuit against Vince McMahon by Janel Grant, but avoids pressing them publicly since it would be unfair. He added that many WWE stars are “frustrated” when it comes to fielding questions about the company’s controversies.
