Latest Update On Bobby Lashley's Debut With AEW; Reason Why He Wasn't At WrestleDream

-- Many expected former WWE World Champion Bobby Lashley to make his debut for AEW at the recently completed WrestleDream PPV but the show came and went and Lashley was nowhere to be seen. Fightfulselect.com reports that most people expected Lashley to make his presence felt during the Swerve Strickland segment and when that didn't happen, it led to questions on whether he is still going to be coming into the company.

-- As it turns out, Lashley has already signed a contract with AEW and his debut for the promotion is all but officially confirmed. Early plans did indicate that Lashley would make his first appearance at WrestleDream but the decision was made to hold off on those ideas. When asked why this decided on, fightfulselect.com reports that a Lashley appearance during Strickland's segment would have naturally led to Swerve being attacked and AEW simply didn't want to two hometown heroes getting beat down (Bryan Danielson being the other).

-- The plan for Lashley continues to be to have him align with MVP and Shelton Benjamin of Hurt Syndicate over the coming weeks. For what it's worth, he was not backstage at WrestleDream and hasn't been seen backstage at any recent AEW shows despite being under contract.
