-- WWE superstar Drew McIntyre has not been seen in months, last appearing for the company on TV at WrestleMania 39 before being drafted to Monday Night Raw in the weeks that followed. At the time, there were reports that McIntyre was dealing with a minor injury but his contract status was also a hot topic as his current agreement with WWE expires in early 2024 and the two sides were reportedly either not even talking a new deal or they were far apart on terms.
-- PWInsiderelite.com reports that there has been a push internally within WWE over the last week to have McIntyre return into storylines in preparation for July's Money in the Bank premium live event which takes place in London. Obviously, given McIntyre's prominence as one of the company's top European stars, it would stand to benefit to have him compete at the show.
-- While there is no update on whether McIntyre is close to signing a new deal with WWE, a big roadblock in current conversations is how McIntyre will be utilized from a storyline perspective, specifically how "meaningful" the storyline will be. The report adds that with less than a year left on his contract, McIntyre isn't interested in "aimlessly floating" when he has a proven track record (during the pandemic) of how important he is to WWE, not just as a wrestler but as a brand ambassador domestically and internationally. Most believe that until the two sides can agree on how he will be used moving forward, McIntyre won't be back but again, WWE wants him back for Money in the Bank.
