As previously reported, WWE star Ludwig Kaiser was arrested this week on charges of battery following an altercation in the elevator of his apartment complex. Conflicting accounts have emerged regarding the incident. According to an affidavit, Kaiser was being “uncontrollably intimate” with his girlfriend, and when asked to “please have some manners,” he punched the person who intervened multiple times.
In response, Kaiser’s side claims that the other individual said something to the effect of “you need to show some f***ing respect before I call ICE on that b***h,” leading to a scuffle, but they assert that no punches were thrown. They maintain that he and his partner were being “affectionate,” but their behavior was not out of the ordinary.
According to Fightful Select, several sources within WWE have suggested that the latter account may have been planted intentionally within the organization. An “unfamiliar number” reportedly reached out to the wrestling media with that narrative, rather than Kaiser, his partner, or WWE’s official team. The report also stated that Kaiser is not expected to face punishment from WWE, with sources believing that the charges will eventually be dismissed.
Additionally, the report indicated that Kaiser has no negative reputation within the company, as informed sources noted that WWE was made aware of the situation by the night of the arrest. Some individuals on the talent side, however, felt that Kaiser should have removed himself from the situation instead of engaging in conflict. Despite the incident, Kaiser has been cleared to travel, and WWE does not anticipate that he will miss the mask vs. mask match against El Grande Americano.
In related news, court records indicated that GUNTHER paid Kaiser’s bond. The cash appearance record names GUNTHER under his real name, Walter Hahn, as the person who deposited the $1,000 bond and signed the associated documents.
