Latest Update On Royce Keys; WWE Reportedly Was Adamant About Placing Him On Main Roster Instead Of NXT

WWE signed former AEW wrestler Powerhouse Hobbs to a multi-year contract in January and had him debut at the Royal Rumble as Royce Keys but he has strangely been off TV ever since.

According to Fightful Select, when WWE officials were asked about his immediate future, no details regarding specific plans were shared, however, WWE has had film an interview with Stephanie McMahon, he was scanned for WWE 2K and then subsequently announced for the game and most importantly has been traveling with the WWE crew to weekly TV and has worked multiple dark matches prior to Smackdown.

The report added that WWE has also filmed "additional projects" with Keys but there was no further details around what they would be, however, this would seem to suggest that they do see him as an important talent on the roster. Interestingly, it was also revealed that when WWE negotiated and brought in Keys, they made it "adamant" that he would immediately be fast tracked to the main roster rather than be assigned to the NXT brand as many incoming talent are.
