Mike Tenay’s name has reportedly come up in internal talks regarding potential commentary roles for the upcoming WWE-AAA crossover event, according to Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com
The idea carries symbolic weight, as Tenay’s announcing career famously began at the original When Worlds Collide pay-per-view back in 1994 — a historic show that also showcased AAA talent.
“There had been discussion of Mike Tenay regarding announcing the show — he started his announcing career doing When Worlds Collide in 1994,” Meltzer noted. “But I can’t confirm if he was contacted. As best as I can tell, he’s not at this point scheduled to do the show.”
While the full commentary team has yet to be confirmed by either WWE or AAA, one name is locked in. Lillian Garcia revealed via Instagram that she will be returning as the in-ring announcer for the special event.
WWE x AAA Worlds Collide takes place live from KIA Forum in Inglewood, CA. on Saturday, June 7, 2025.
