WWE NXT on USA Network kicked off with a bang with this week.
The opening match on the Wednesday, November 11, 2020 episode of WWE NXT on USA Network saw NXT North American Champion Johnny Gargano come out to make his advertised title defense against a mystery opponent.
Gargano came to the ring to spin the "Wheel of Challengers" to find out who the "worthy opponent" will be for what he hopes to be his first successful title defense here tonight.
We discover that the wheel was rigged so that Leon Ruff's name would win regardless, and that is exactly what happened.
With things going seemingly as planned for Gargano, they quickly steered off-track when former NXT North American Champion Damian Priest provided an assist for Ruff in the form of a distraction, leading to Ruff scoring the shocking upset victory over Gargano to become the new NXT North American Champion.
Unfortunately for Gargano, with the loss, his curse / streak of never successfully defending a title continues.
