An announcement was recently made by the Warrior Wrestling promotion that after having a consultation with All Elite Wrestling and ROH the originally planned tag team match between The Lucha Brothers and The Briscoes at their upcoming Warrior Wrestling 25 Event will no longer be taking place. As a result of the match being changed, The Lucha Brothers (Penta El Zero Miedo and Rey Fenix) is now set to face Brian Cage and Gringo Loco, while The Briscoes (Mark and Jay Briscoe) is now set to go up against The Rascalz (Myron Reed and Zachary Wentz).
It was also announced by the promotion that Eddie Kingston will appear on the show as he will take on Calvin Tankman in Singles action and he will also be appearing at a meet and greet prior to the event on Sunday, October 2nd in Marion Heights, Illinois.
There's no word yet on why the match between The Lucha Brothers and The Briscoes was nixed, but it is possible that AEW CEO and ROH owner Tony Khan wants to save the match for a ROH Event or an AEW Event being that it is the first-ever match between the two teams. There have been reports though that Mark and Jay Briscoe will not appear on AEW programming as network officials didn’t want The Briscoes used on their show due to past controversial comments made by Jay Briscoe, which he has apologized for.
