Lucha Libre FMV Filed To Trademark The “Lucha Underground” Name

This past March 31st, Lucha Libre FMV filed to trademark the “Lucha Underground” name with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (the USPTO) under the category of television series. Their initial run was a joint venture with Lucha Libre FMV, FactoryMade Ventures, Lucha Libre AAA, Robert Rodriguez and the MGM Television Group.

There reportedly had been talks last month that the promotion will be returning, but it seems that it won’t happen and instead, what was used for Lucha Underground in the past will now be used for MLW as they recently introduced the Azteca Underground concept. The promotion aired on the El Rey Network on Wednesday nights, where it premiered in October of 2014 and ran for 4 seasons with the company's last episode airing in November of 2018.
