Lucha Underground recently posted a video on Twitter (X), teasing an upcoming announcement. This marks the first update from the account since November 2019.
The video features a close-up of a luchador mask lying on the ground, surrounded by fog. As the camera moves closer, it's revealed that a person's head is inside the mask. The scene then cuts to the word “Mas?” in red against a black background. The purpose of the teaser is still unclear. According to PWInsider.com, there is speculation that this could indicate the promotion’s return to a streaming service, although this remains unconfirmed.
Lucha Underground was launched in 2014 and aired for four seasons on El Rey. Created by Mark Burnett and Robert Rodriguez, the series showcased stars like Rey Mysterio, Penta, Rey Fenix, Angelico, Chelsea Green, Thunder Rosa, Dr. Wagner Jr., Melina, Swerve Strickland, and many others. The final episode aired in November 2018.
In 2021, there were discussions about reviving the promotion, but those plans ultimately did not materialize.
