Malakai Black Reportedly One of Many AEW Wrestlers That WWE Made Contact With

– The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that WWE contacted a “number of former WWE talents” in AEW that either left on their own accord or were fired by WWE to gauge their interest in coming back with some going to AEW asking to be let go. Malakai Black was one talent, even though he had recently signed a five-year contract and he ended up asking for his release. It is believed he was granted a conditional release with a significant non-compete clause that would not allow him to jump back to WWE for a while but would allow him to work on the indie scene.

-- Other talent that were contacted by WWE were said to be happy with AEW and those are the ones that ended up informing AEW management about the situation, prompting AEW Head of Legal Megha Parekh to send a letter to WWE threatening interference with their contracts.
