Matt Riddle Reportedly No-Shows Charity Wrestling Event; Hasn't Returned Deposit

Matt Riddle allegedly missed a charity wrestling event over the weekend and has yet to return the deposit he was given for the show.

According to a report by Cultaholic, Riddle was scheduled to wrestle on Sunday, August 31 in England for Global Wrestling Kindom. The promotion ran the event to raise money for survivors of domestic abuse and homeless veterans and had advertised Riddle in a match against Simon Miller.

Riddle though was "nowhere to be seen" and Global Wrestling Kingdom instead replaced him with Grado, who claimed he got a phone call late Saturday night to make a five-hour drive to make the show. According to the report, Riddle was booked months ago but was unhappy with his flight as well as the fact that he was being flown in two days early. When Riddle expressed his concerns about being in a hotel room for two days with nothing to do, the promotion tried to set up seminars so he could make some extra money in the meantime, however, they were unable to finalize anything on such short notice.

Riddle didn't cancel his booking with Global Wrestling Kingdom but didn't get on his flight and a driver "was left waiting several hours" at the airport waiting for him to arrive. When the promotion reached out to Riddle, he apparently told them that he accepted another booking in North America but would potentially still be able to make the Global event. The report alleges that Riddle did not open any further messages asking about his status for the show.

The report also alleges that due to his no-show, Global Wrestling Kingdom was forced to issue refunds for meet-and-greets that they had set up with Riddle and that the wrestler has yet to return his deposit.
