Top AEW star Mercedes Moné recently lost the WPW Women’s Championship at the promotion’s Fight at the Museum event. Moné faced TNA star Jody Threat at Winnipeg Pro Wrestling’s show, which was held at the Manitoba Museum in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. In this match, Threat emerged victorious, capturing the championship from Moné.
Moné had held the title for 164 days, having defeated Threat for it at WPW Rumble In The Burt 3 in October of the previous year. This latest victory marks Threat’s third title reign.
In recent months, Moné has lost several other championships, including the AEW TBS Championship, ROH Women’s TV Championship, CMLL World Women’s Championship, RevPro Undisputed British Women’s Championship, Queen of Southside Championship, Discovery Wrestling Scottish Women’s Championship, EWA Women’s Championship (Austria), PTW Women’s Championship, BestYa Women’s Championship, Bodyslam Women’s Championship, and now the WPW Women’s Championship. Currently, she only holds the APAC Women’s Championship and the annual Owen Hart Foundation Championship.
Earlier this month, Moné mentioned that she is planning to return to AEW soon. Her last appearance for AEW was in a vignette on the January 10 episode of Collision, where she announced that she would be taking a break after losing the TBS Championship to Willow Nightingale.
