Mickie James announced via Instagram that she has suffered a torn ACL in her knee and will be undergoing surgery soon to repair the damage. The surgery hasn't been scheduled yet but James underwent an MRI on Monday, which revealed the bad news. While there is no timetable for her return at this time, a torn ACL often sidelines an athlete for at least nine months.
The injury occurred at the house show in Waco, Texas on Saturday towards the end of a match against Carmella. James was unable to wrestle the next night and the company pulled her from live events ahead of the tests on Monday.
