Maxwell Jacob Friedman pulled the ultimate heel move on Saturday.
Whether it was by design or an unavoidable circumstance is not yet clear.
Ahead of his scheduled match against Wardlow at this Sunday night's AEW Double Or Nothing 2022 pay-per-view, MJF was advertised to appear at the AEW Double Or Nothing 2022 Fanfest in Las Vegas, Nevada on Saturday.
The Pinnacle leader and top AEW performer did not show.
According to PWInsider.com, it appears MJF legitimately missed the advertised booking, and the company was unaware as to why he did not show. The report states that they attempted to reach MJF, but was unable to get in contact with him.
It's worth noting that MJF has spoken in interviews, as well as in promos on AEW television, in a way that makes him seem very interested in a move to WWE when his current contract with AEW expires.
PWInsider also noted in their report that "there has been a feeling that MJF hasn’t been on the same wavelength of late behind the scenes with AEW management, and has been keeping more to himself behind the scenes."
We will keep you posted here at Rajah.com as updates regarding MJF continue to surface.
