– The plan right now is for MJF to be returning to AEW TV “somewhat soon”, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. The main reason appears to be AEW’s upcoming negotiations for a new TV deal that is probably going to be starting in a few months and stretching into spring. With that said, AEW’s TV ratings figures from September to when the deal is closed are going to be very important, even more so given that Dynamite has experienced a recent ratings drop.
– The report adds that with WWE now becoming the “cool” promotion, it has come at a bad time for AEW with recent injuries to key players (CM Punk, Adam Cole, Bryan Danielson, Kenny Omega) and with MJF and the Hardy Boyz tag team shelved for the time being, the promotion essentially needs “all hands on deck.”
