More Backstage News On Rumored Contract Negotiations Between WWE & CM Punk

-- Earlier today, we alluded to an online report that had been making the rounds about CM Punk initiating discussions to re-structure his contract with WWE as his goal was to remain with the company "forever" or until he retires. PWInsiderelite.com released a further report today clarifying some of the rumors.

-- Their report states that Punk and WWE agreed to a three-year contract around Survivor Series 2023 meaning he is locked into an agreement until the end of 2026. This would also not include any time WWE would choose to tack onto the deal since Punk has been injured for much of 2024 after tearing his triceps at the Royal Rumble.

-- As for whether Punk and WWE are negotiating a new, ultra-long term contract, the report states that it is true that the two sides are discussing a new deal but that it is WWE who approached Punk about a new contract rather than the other way around as reports suggested. Sources within WWE have confirmed that they are looking to do business with Punk on a "bigger deal" due to the massive success it has been for everyone since Punk returned in 2023, noting that Punk has done "huge numbers" with both merchandise and socials.
