Veteran wrestler and legend Chris Jericho's name has been a hot topic online for the last several weeks and the rumors have hit a fever pitch at the turn of the year with many believing that Jericho is WWE-bound, perhaps as early as tonight's Raw in New York.
An earlier report noted that the backstage feeling within WWE is that Jericho isn't scheduled to appear on tonight's show and now fightfulselect.com has added more context to the story, pointing out that Jericho is still listed on AEW's roster page despite the company being very quick and diligent about removing wrestlers as soon as they are finished with the promotion. The report also stated that a memo went out about three recent talents departing AEW but Jericho was not included among them.
AEW sources were asked about Jericho's status with the company and nobody responded nor would anyone confirm that any time had been added to his contract, which was believed to be expiring at the end of 2025 effectively making him a free agent as soon as the calendar turned. In fact, there has been no confirmation that Jericho is even officially done with AEW and the fact he remains on the roster page seems to allude that he is still tied to the promotion.
On the WWE side, sources have stated that Jericho's name has not been brought up creatively nor was he factored into plans for tonight's Raw from what was made available. However, one source did state to fightful that "it wouldn't be the first time we got worked too" in the event that WWE is going to hide Jericho and secretly bring him in.
