More Details on CM Punk's Future & Potentially Returning to WWE

— With CM Punk potentially working with the FOX’s new “WWE Backstage” show on FS 1, rumours have began swirling again about a potential return to wrestling, specifically with WWE. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter speculates that if Punk does indeed make a return, it is looking like it will be with WWE as he has recently made comments suggesting that he’s open for a relationship with the company in some fashion.

— The Observer adds that Punk is in the position now to think that even though WWE likely cost him a significant amount of money in legal fees during the lawsuit he filed against them, the company is still the place where he can make the most money, especially with the age factor creeping in. WWE for their part was initially not interested in having him involved with the FS 1 show and internally, the company believed that he wanted to come back but that they were not anywhere close to extending any offers. It’s also interesting to note that AEW made an offer to Punk sometime back but he responded to them in a negative manner and there’s apparently been no contact between the two parties since.
