More Details On Why WWE Terminated EVP of Talent Dan Ventrelle

-- After a stint of less than two years, WWE gave Executive Vice President of Talent, Dan Ventrelle, his walking papers earlier this week and unlike other past terminations, there appears to be a reason why WWE parted ways with him.

-- A fightfulselect.com report suggests that Ventrelle was "not adored" by talent from a professional standpoint which probably was an issue considering he was leading that area of the company and reported directly into Paul Levesque. Notably, many within WWE were blaming him for the fact that so many top superstar contracts are so close to expiring and some felt that while was involved in negotiations, the role itself appeared to be an ill-fit with his skills.

-- The list of talent whose deals either came up very close to expiration or are close to expiring included Becky Lynch, Seth Rollins, Finn Balor and Drew McIntyre and there are said to be at least several others with contracts running out. The fightful report confirmed one such name - Natalya - who deal is said to be expiring within the next couple of months and talks between the two sides haven't even begun yet. Natalya currently holds the distinction of being the longest tenured female wrestler on WWE's roster.

-- Prior to joining WWE in the third quarter of 2022, Ventrelle was President of the Las Vegas Raiders NFL team where he led their business operations and served as the chief lead during player negotiations. He was fired from that franchise in May of 2022 with the Raiders not offering a comment but Ventrelle stating that it was due being a whistle-blower of sorts against team owner Mark Davis.
