WWE is set to crown its inaugural WWE Independent Development Championship soon, with tournament matches scheduled across multiple independent promotions.
GCW and Future Stars of Wrestling will host some of the key tournament bouts during WrestleMania weekend.
Here’s what WWE ID revealed about the tournament:
- For the Men's Championship, the competition will kick off with a double-elimination Opening Round. Competitors are eliminated after losing two matches.
- The Opening Round will take place across several independent wrestling promotions, narrowing the field down to four finalists.
- The final four will then battle it out in a single-elimination format to determine the champion.
As for the Women's Championship, it will be decided through a round-robin format, with matches held across various independent promotions.
The WWE ID Tournament will officially begin during WrestleMania week in Las Vegas. Keep an eye on the graphics for more information.
