-- When it came time to re-negotiate his contract, the main issues between Paul “Big Show” Wight and WWE came down to both financial terms and his usage moving forward. The company looked at Wight as more of an ambassador and had no plans to use him as a wrestler moving forward apart from occasional special attraction type matches or one-offs. As a result, the offer they extended to him was for far less than he was expecting and sources note that the two sides were very far apart on that. Wight obviously received a better offer from Tony Khan and AEW and made the jump, and he’s eventually expected to wrestle at least a handful of matches for his new employer. Once it became official, WWE moved quickly to move him to the Alumni section of their site and also they began working to remove his likeness from future products, including video games.
