As previously reported, David Finlay made his AEW debut on this week’s episode of Dynamite. He joined Clark Connors and Gabe Kidd in attacking Darby Allin and Orange Cassidy after the tag team match in which Allin and Cassidy faced Connors and Kidd. AEW President and CEO Tony Khan confirmed afterward that the trio has signed with the company, and reports indicate that Finlay's deal with AEW was finalized within the past week.
According to Fightful Select, despite earlier reports, Finlay did not engage in any discussions with TNA Wrestling before signing with AEW. The report also clarified that Connors was officially signed by AEW a couple of weeks ago, but it remains unclear when Kidd finalized his AEW deal.
Finlay had some discussions with WWE; however, they only offered him a position in NXT rather than a main roster deal and were unwilling to negotiate further on that front. Ultimately, Finlay chose to sign with AEW instead. The trio, previously part of the Bullet Club War Gods in NJPW, will be known as The Dogs in AEW moving forward.
