-- As reported earlier and confirmed by WWE, Mauro Ranallo has left the company, parting ways on amicable terms. According to f4wonline.com, WWE's travel schedule and Ranallo's desire to be with his mother back home in British Columbia, Canada played a significant role in his decision to leave. Prior to missing recent time due to flying back to Canada to be with her, WWE made attempts to accommodate him as they initially had him doing voiceovers from a home studio rather than have him fly into Orlando to commentate. Ranallo had the following to say on Facebook:
“I appreciate the opportunity I had to realize my childhood dream of working in sports entertainment, and I wish WWE well in the future. Now I want to direct my focus and devote my time to my other projects and to my mental health charitable activities and the well-being of my mother and myself.”
-- The writing seemed to be on the wall for Ranallo leaving WWE as the company brought in Wade Barrett for commentary on NXT last week and he's set to be working again this week while negotiating a full-time contract. Ranallo meanwhile will continue to do play-by-play for Showtime boxing and Bellator MMA.
