-- As noted yesterday, WWE shuffled around some of their top creative writers yesterday by moving Ed Koskey from Raw over to Smackdown to serve as the head writer under Eric Bischoff's leadership. Former lead writer Ryan Ward is away on a leave of absence after getting married. On Raw, former 205 writer Jonathan Baeckstrom is now the main guy on the writing team under Paul Heyman's direction. This is all in anticipation of WWE's move to the FOX network starting next month as it is expected that like talent and announcers, each brand will have a dedicated and exclusive writing team with no crossover whatsoever.
-- Also reported yesterday is the upcoming WWE draft scheduled for October 11 and October 14 on Smackdown and Raw, respectively. PWInsider.com reports that WWE talent has been told to expect much stronger boundaries between the two brands moving forward and that the "wild card" rule will be eliminated though "things change on a whim" in the company.
-- Finally, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter notes that WWE is looking to add to the writing staff for their NXT shows, which is the complete opposite of AEW who are not hiring writers for their show. They add that that will be one huge difference between WWE and AEW when they go head-to-head in that it will be a heavily scripted WWE show compared to more of an “old school version” by AEW where segments will still be laid out but a lot of things will go unscripted.
