More On WWE Raw Moving to Netflix; Uncertainty Around End of 2023, more

-- WWE announced a landmark deal with Netflix to begin airing Monday Night Raw beginning in January of 2025, however, WWE's existing deal with the USA Network expires on September 30 leading to a question of where Raw will air in the last three months of 2024.

-- The USA Network has reportedly publicly stated that they wouldn't be extending the airing of Raw beyond the end of September so that option seems to be off the table unless the two sides somehow negotiation a short extension. On the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, it was stated that WWE has revealed that they will make an announcement "relatively soon" on what their plan is, perhaps going on Netflix a few months ahead of the official contract start date.

-- The future of the WWE Network outside of the United States is also a topic of uncertainly, however, on Observer Radio it was stated that the network will essentially be folding at the end of the year, with Netflix picking up the content. It's unclear though if they would pick up all the content, including archives and footage from all the old territories, etc. This is expected to begin in January.

-- In terms of WWE airing their programming on TV networks outside of the U.S. (for example Sportsnet in Canada), it is believed that WWE wants everything on Netflix and once those individual agreements expire, the company will not be interested in renewing, eventually phasing out all their TV deals in most countries.
