More On WWE's Decision To Move WrestleMania 42 From New Orleans; Note On Where It Will Now Be Held Instead

In an unprecedented move, WWE reversed course on Thursday announcing that next year's WrestleMania 42 would no longer be held in New Orleans, LA despite not only public announcements and press releases touting New Orleans but also have The Rock appear on TV to break the news.

In an interesting note shared in a NOLA.com article, it was revealed that WWE is planning on bringing WrestleMania 42 next year back to Las Vegas, which hosted this year's event. While the reason(s) to abandon plans for New Orleans in 2026 are not clear, the article seemed to suggest that TKO's close ties to Vegas are the reason that management want to bring the two-night show back to the city as the company's Live Events Strategy Team, which is headed by UFC exec Peter Dropick and he is based in Vegas.

When New Orleans was announced as the site for WrestleMania 42, the two-night event was scheduled for April 11-12 but with the move to Las Vegas, it is expected that the show will now take place a week later, on April 18-19.
