Most of Florida's Economy Re-Opening Friday; Wrestling With Fans in Attendance Could Follow

-- Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced on Wednesday the state's Phase 2 plans to reopen much of the economy beginning Friday with bars, movie theaters, and other "entertainment" in 64 of the 67 counties in Florida. Under this new order, bars will be able to open with 50% capacity indoors and full capacity outdoors, provided that proper social distancing of 6 feet is maintained between tables. The re-openings also affect movie theaters, bowling alleys and concert halls and seems to pave the way for wrestling events - WWE and AEW predominantly - to also reopen in the near future with a live audience and the same social distancing restrictions in place. WWE and AEW have been running shows in Florida at their respective locations but without any members of the general public in attendance. If this order does open the door for things to go back to "normal", expect both promotions to take advantage of it soon.

-- While other states also begin to re-open their economies, the future of wrestling "house shows" is still very much in the air as that area of the business was already losing money even without all the restrictions in place.
