The New Day Explains Why Big E Started Throwing His Jacket At Corey Graves

The WWE Network recently released a WWE 24 documentary on current WWE Intercontinental Champion Big E from his early childhood up to his high school and football days until the time he finally made it to the WWE and made his dreams come true. One topic that wasn't covered on the documentary was why Big E started throwing his jacket at WWE SmackDown Announcer Corey Graves during his entrances.

According to Graves, he honestly doesn’t know why the WWE Intercontinental Champion throws his jacket at him beyond the fact that he says disparaging things about The New Day, maybe the guys just decided to take it upon themselves to get a little bit of vengeance in their own sort of way.

Graves said, “I honestly don’t know what the genesis of the coat throwing was much beyond the fact that I said disparaging things about The New Day.” “Big E and the guys decided to take it upon themselves to get a little bit of vengeance in their own sort of way. They just made sure it happened on national television.”

Xavier Woods gave his take on it and said that it started with them hitting Graves with pancakes, and they just decided to up the ante and Big E started to throw his jacket at Corey Graves during the New Day's entrances, because it was funny to him.

Woods said, “Big E threw his jacket at Corey Graves when we do our entrances, because it was funny to him.” “We were hitting him with pancakes before. And he wanted to up the ante. So, the logical progression would be, ‘Let me throw this bulky, heavy-ass jacket.'”

Big E then said he just tried to do it on one show and nobody said anything backstage and it made him laugh, so he just kept doing it.

Big E said, “I think I threw my jacket at him and no one really said anything.” “It was like, ‘This makes me laugh, I’m gonna keep doing it.’ … There’s not much rhyme or reason, except it was funny to me. Then I just kept doing it.”
