New WWE 24/7 Champion Crowned On RAW, Xavier Woods Tries To Win The Title

A new WWE 24/7 Champion was crowned on RAW last night when Akira Tozawa surprised R-Truth from behind with a roll-up to capture the title during a backstage segment. After the segment ended, R-Truth said that he was tired of the whole 24/7 Title chase. This is Tozawa’s 10th time as the WWE 24/7 Champion. R-Truth was in his 52nd reign as the WWE 24/7 Champion, which began after he beat Joseph Average (Rik Bugez) during one of the Old Spice video vignettes that aired for WrestleMania 37 Weekend.

This was the first time that the company featured the WWE 24/7 Title on RAW since the March 15th show when rapper Bad Bunny handed the championship over to Truth. The title then changed hands a few times between Tozawa, Truth and Average during the Old Spice video vignettes that aired during WrestleMania 37 Weekend.

Immediately following RAW, WWE released a post-RAW video that shows how Xavier Woods tried to win the WWE 24/7 Title from Tozawa when Xavier sneaked up on Tozawa from behind in a backstage interview with Sarah Schreiber, but Tozawa ran away from the Yuengling Center, clutching his title.
