-- WWE officially announced the date and venue of next year's SummerSlam premium live event yesterday and for the first time ever, it will be a two-day affair that will emanate from East Rutherford, NJ. In an effort to appeal to the mainstream media, WWE had Cardi B appear on an announcement and fightfulselect.com reports that it isn't the first time that the company has been after her.
-- The report states that WWE was looking to work with Cardi B as far as back as the spring of 2021 at which time they had hoped they could use a Cardi B song for that year's SummerSlam as well as have the rapper/songwriter make an actual appearance. However, Cardi ended up announcing her pregnancy and the possibility of that appearance evaporated. WWE ended up also reaching out to Mike Tyson and Megan Thee Stallion that year and in the present, the company continues to look at all attempts to incorporate mainstream stars into their programming and announcements.
