News on WWE's Tentative Opponents for Roman Reigns Over Next Six Months

-- With the WWE draft completed and new rosters to go into effect later this month, there was and still is a major lack of top babyfaces on both the men’s and women’s side. Roman Reigns “ran through” Kevin Owens, Finn Balor, Cesaro and Rey Mysterio and desperately needed new opponents, which is why Drew McIntyre was moved over to Smackdown.

-- According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE is planning for McIntyre to be Reigns’ next big contender around the December timeframe and to address Reigns’ lack of opponents, they also hope to prolong the Reigns-Brock Lesnar storyline into a “multiple show series” rather than just at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia with a WrestleMania match a distinct possibility. One option there to extend the feud is to have at least one title change to keep things interesting. The only other names mentioned as possible opponents but would require a major leap of faith since they have been marginalized are Jeff Hardy and Ricochet.
