NJPW Issues Statement Reacting To Gabriel Kidd Announcing Hiatus He "Has Needed For A While"


As noted, Gabriel Kidd revealed on Thursday that he will be taking a "much-needed break" from New Japan Pro Wrestling after 13-years thanks to his "family and closest friends giving him a wake-up call" that he has "needed for a while."

For those who missed the original statement released by Kidd on Twitter this week, the NJPW veteran wrote the following:

"This isn’t a wrestling promo. I am not well and will be taking time off because after 13 years of dedicating my life and putting wrestling first I need a rest. Thank you to my family and closest friends for giving me the wake up call I’ve needed for a while. I’ll be back."

In an update, the official website of NJPW has issued a statement reacting to the comments by Kidd, confirming his hiatus and making it clear that they fully support the longtime pro wrestling veteran.

Gabriel Kidd will be returning to the UK and taking a leave of absence from competition for health reasons.
