NJPW recently held the ninth day of their Road To Wrestling Dontaku 2023 Event, which took place from the Fukuoka Convention Center in Fukuoka, Japan. The show saw current IWGP World Heavyweight Champion SANADA defend his IWGP World Heavyweight Championship against Hiromu Takahashi in the main event.

- Hikuleo def. KENTA (c) to become the new NJPW STRONG Openweight Champion.
- Zack Sabre Jr. (c) vs. Jeff Cobb in a NJPW World Television Championship Match went to a 15-minute time-limit draw.
- Kazuchika Okada, Tomohiro Ishii and Hiroshi Tanahashi def. Strong Style (Ren Narita, El Desperado and Minoru Suzuki) (c) to become the new NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Champions.
- David Finlay def. Tama Tonga (c) to become the new NEVER Openweight Champion.
