NXT General Manager Ava has announced that due to an injury, Noam Dar has been stripped of his title as NXT Heritage Cup Champion. He will also not be competing in his scheduled title defense on Tuesday night's episode of NXT TV. Additionally, it has been announced that Stacks will face a new opponent for the vacant Heritage Cup title, and the winner will be crowned the new champion.
Luca Crusifino took to his Twitter (X) and announced that Tony D’Angelo will now face Stacks for the vacant title on Tuesday's show. Crusifino wrote, “You wanted me to prove my loyalty? You don’t have to trust what I say, trust the move I just made. That’s loyalty.”
There's a lot of intrigue surrounding this match, as Crusifino is Stacks' former tag team partner. Earlier this year at NXT Stand & Deliver, Stacks betrayed D’Angelo. In the recently released video, Crusifino discussed his desire to prove his loyalty to D’Angelo. He stated, “Now, Tony, if that doesn’t prove my loyalty to you and that of my character, than nothing will be good enough. Tony, it’s time to put the family business to bed.”
You wanted me to prove my loyalty?
You don’t have to trust what I say, trust the move I just made. That’s loyalty.
