NXT General Manager Ava Announces She Is Leaving WWE After Deciding Not To Renew Her Contract

WWE NXT General Manager Ava is leaving the company.

In a post on Instagram earlier today, Ava noted that she has decided not to renew her contract with WWE and her appearance on NXT this past week was her final one.

“This past Tuesday was my last appearance on NXT & subsequently WWE. Thank you to all who have cheered, watched, and supported me through my journey. While my decision to not renew my contract was very difficult, it’s also new turning point in my life. It has been an honor & a privilege to be Ava.”

Ava, 24, is the daughter of WWE legend Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and began her tenure with WWE in 2020, signing as a developmental talent and debuting as a wrestler "Ava Raine" in 2022. However, she only wrestled in a handful of matches over the next year and ultimately transitioned into an on-camera authority role first as Shawn Michaels' assistant and then as NXT's General Manager.
