NXT Star and former WWE 205 Live General Manager Drake Maverick was among several wrestlers and staff who were released by the WWE last April due to company-wide budget cuts brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the release, WWE still used Maverick in the tournament to crown a new Cruiserweight Champion and even though he didn't win the entire tournament, Maverick made it to the finals, lost to Santos Escobar, but was still re-signed to the WWE.
Speaking of Maverick, the NXT Star recently took to his Twitter and posted a photo of himself looking absolutely ripped as he has been putting in the hard work while working out at the gym.
Drake Maverick said, “I watched a movie when I was a kid… 9 more inches taller then I get in the hunt @WWENXT #WWENXT #BeyondTheMat #IYKYK.”
Drake Maverick has been paired with Killian Dain as of late on NXT TV. Their last match on WWE NXT TV took place on the February 24th episode of WWE NXT, when they lost a tournament match to the Grizzled Young Veterans (James Drake and Zack Gibson).
