NXT UK Full Recap (10/7)- B.T. Sport Studios, London, England

Hello again wrestling fans, and welcome back to the NXT UK Recap. This edition of the show is centered around the finals of the NXT UK Heritage Cup Championship Number One Contender Tournament, so let’s get down to it.

NXT UK (10/8/21)

⁃ The show kicks off with the announce team running down the lineup for today’s show, until the usual opening video package plays.
⁃ Jinny makes her way down the aisle with Joseph Connors by her side, and “The Fashionista” is in the first match.

Jinny vs Emilia McKenzie

After an energetic entrance from Emilia, the bell rings, and both women tie it up right away. Emilia gains a brief advantage with a takedown, and works over the wrist of Jinny. Connors tries to help Jinny turn things around, and she does so with a wrist lock of her own. McKenzie breaks free from the hold, but she’s taken down by a drop toehold from Jinny. “The Fashionista” attacks the hair of McKenzie for a moment, and nearly gets disqualified, as Connors shouts “teach her a lesson!” Jinny continues to mount offense on McKenzie, until Emilia turns the tables with a spinning neck breaker, and nearly puts Jinny away. McKenzie keeps the pressure on for a bit longer, but Jinny regroups, and unleashes a vicious attack on Emilia in the corner of the ring. Jinny goes to work on the left shoulder of McKenzie, and uses unique offense to damage Emilia’s limb, before applying a gruesome submission hold. Jinny changes course from there, and tries to pin McKenzie, but Emilia is still alive. Jinny keeps her foot on the gas, and applies a single leg Boston Crab on McKenzie, while Connors gets in the face of Emilia from the outside. Emilia eventually gets to the ropes, and begins to fire up for a comeback. Emilia hoists Jinny up into the air for a belly to back suplex, and scores a close nearfall on Jinny, drawing the attention of Joseph Connors. NXT UK Women’s Champion Meiko Satomura runs down to even up the odds, and McKenzie nearly puts Jinny away in the ring. Emilia looks to follow up with a spear, but post’s herself in the corner of the ring. Jinny comes behind that with a Ripcord Liger Kick, and Jinny makes the cover for the 1-2-3.

WInner: Jinny

⁃ After the match: Jinny gets on the mic, and sends a message to Satomura. Jinny tells Meiko “I’ve got your attention, and no one will stand in the way of me and my destiny... ‘The Final Boss vs The Fashionista’ for the NXT UK Women’s Championship.”
⁃ Backstage: Noam Dar warms up for the main event, while Sha Samuels helps Dar fire up.

**commercial break**

⁃ In Sid Scala’s office: Blair Davenport storms in, and demands to be reinstated. Scala follows order’s, and Blair tells Sid “I always get what I want.”
⁃ Promo package: NXT UK Champion Ilja Dragunov shares a few thoughts on A-Kid, who Dragunov will defend his title against during next week’s show.
⁃ In The Studio: Mark Andrews of Subculture enters the B.T. Sports Studio, and he’s set to face Sam Gradwell.

Mark Andrews vs Sam Gradwell

The opening bell sounds, and both men tie it up right away. Gradwell gains the early advantage over Andrews, and overpowers his smaller opponent with a wrist lock. Mark eventually breaks free, and catches Sam with an arm drag takedown, before a brief standoff. Both men get back to work, and Andrews sends Gradwell to the outside, then misfires on a dive. Andrews looks to get back in control of the match, but Gradwell tosses him back into the ring, and begins to viciously ground and pound Mark. Sam tries a quick cover, and Andrews kicks out, but Gradwell remains in control of Mark with a submission hold. Andrews begins to fire up for a moment, but he’s quickly tossed over the top rope, and lands the apron. Gradwell lands a vicious elbow strike, and follows up with a double under-hook suplex, before making a cover for a close near fall. Gradwell immediately transitions into a crossface, and grinds away at Andrews. Mark begins to come back to life, and nails a DDT from out of nowhere! Both men go down to the mat for a moment, until Andrews fires away with chops. Mark unleashes a furry of offense on Gradwell, and caps it all off with a stomp for the 1-2-NO! Andrews looks to remain in control of Gradwell, but Sam quickly turns the tables with a big slam. Gradwell applies yet another submission hold, but Andrews reverses the pressure, and nearly steals the match with a roll up. Gradwell eventually hoists Andrews into the air, but Mark hits a Stundog Millionare on the way down! Sam rolls to the outside, where Andrews goes on the attack, and both men are nearly counted out. Back in the ring, Mark looks to close out the match, but Gradwell lifts Andrews into the air once again, and nails the Fireman’s Carry Slam for the 1-2-3.

Winner: Sam Gradwell

⁃ After the match: Sha Samuels runs into Flash Morgan Webster. Flash slaps Samuels in the face, and runs away.
⁃ Backstage: Wolfgang is warming up for the main event, alongside Joe and Mark Coffey.

⁃ Back in the arena: The announce team hypes next week’s NXT UK Championship match, until Noam Dar struts to the ring.

Noam Dar vs Wolfgang

Round 1

The first round begins with a bit of mind games from Dar, who uses his speed to stay away from Wolfgang. Dar goes between the ropes for a moment, and the referee forces Wolfgang to back away from Noam. After a quick stalemate, Wolfgang slaps Dar, and lifts him up in the air for a suplex. Dar manages to fight out of the arms of Wolfgang, but Wolfgang plants him Noam on the top rope. Wolfgang takes too long to make his next move, and Dar causes separation with a few strikes. Noam goes to work on the left shoulder of Wolfgang, until the Gallus boy breaks free, and time runs out on the round.

Round 2

The second round begins with Wolfgang in full control, until Dar pulls out a bit of trickery. Wolfgang shakes it off quickly, and powers Noam into the corner, before delivering multiple strikes. Sha Samuels tries to distract Wolfgang, and Jordan Devlin appears from out of nowhere to even the odds! The madness on the outside distracts Wolfgang, allowing Dar to steal the first fall with a roll up.

Round 3

The referee signals for the bell, and the third round is underway. Wolfgang comes straight out the gate with a spear, and immediately pins Dar to even the score at one a piece.

Tied 1-1

Round 4

Round four kicks off, and Dar is still clutching his ribs. Wolfgang looks to capitalize, and throws Noam all around the ring. Wolfgang begins to rag doll Dar, but Noam eventually uses his speed to outsmart Wolfie, and get some rest on the outside. Wolfgang rolls Dar back into the ring, and looks for a cover, but Dar surprises him with a kick to the face. Dar makes it back to his feet first, and goes back to work on the left arm of Wolfgang, until Wolfie attacks Dar’s ribs. Time ticks down on the round, as both men show signs of wear and tear.

Round 5

It’s time for yet another round, and Dar fires away with a missile dropkick in the corner. Dar quickly gets back to his feet, and makes it rain fists on Wolfgang, before hitting consecutive knee strikes. Dar looks to put the match away with a pin, and Wolfgang kicks out on instinct, forcing the match to continue. Wolfgang comes back alive, and hits a stiff shot to the ribs of Dar. Wolfgang grabs his left arm for a moment, allowing Dar to regroup, and go back to attacking the arm. Noam changes course, and locks on a nasty knee submission, as Wolfgang desperately tries to get to the ropes. Wolfgang finally breaks free from the hold, and nails a spear from out of nowhere, but time runs out on the round.

Round 6

Both men look absolutely gassed, but this is the final round! A hockey fight breaks out, until Wolfgang nails an exploder suplex on Dar! Wolfgang looks to follow up, but Dar hits a drop toe hold, before hitting consecutive strikes on Wolfie. Dar tries to put the match away with a cover, but Wolfgang kicks out at one! Dar rushes to the corner of the ring, then lands a thunderous Nova Roller! Wolfgang doesn’t go down, so Dar sets up for a second Nova Roller, and seals the deal on a victory!

Winner: Noam Dar
