NXT UK Full Recap (8/19)- B.T. Sport Studios, London, England

Hello again wrestling fans, and welcome back to the NXT UK Recap. This edition of the show is centered around a pair of Championship defenses, so let’s get right down to it!

NXT UK (8/19/21)

⁃ The show opening video package plays NXT UK on-air, and the announce team runs down the lineup for today’s show.
⁃ Stevie Turner makes her way down the ramp, and she’s in the first match.

NXT UK Women’s Championship

Stevie Turner vs Meiko Satomura (c)

After the Championship introductions, Meiko and Stevie tie it up on the middle of the ring. Both women struggle to gain the early advantage, until Meiko begins to fire away at Stevie. Meiko wrestles Stevie into a few corners, until taking Turner down with a submission hold. Meiko cranks the neck of Turner on the mat, until Stevie begins to fight back to her feet. Turner powers Meiko into the corner, but Satomura will not let go. Turner eventually breaks free of the hold with assistance from the ropes, and both women lock up again. Stevie turns up the intensity from out of nowhere, and hits a pair of big boots to the face of Satomura. Meiko quickly regains control of the match, and lays in heavy strikes to Turner in the corner. Meiko hits an arm drag takedown, and immediately applies a submission hold, as Turner reaches for the ropes. After a rope break, Meiko sends Turner to the outside, and Stevie takes a step back from the action. Turner tries to re-enter the ring, but Satomura kicks her in the face, and goes outside to help Turner back in the ring. Stevie turns the tables on the apron, and lands a few more powerful kicks to the face of Satomura. Stevie takes complete control of the match, and nearly steals a victory, but Meiko isn’t finished yet. Stevie begins to get confident, and hacks away at Satomura with kicks, until Meiko falls flat to the mat. Stevie grabs both legs, and scores a close near fall, but the Champion is still alive. Turner goes for a submission hold, but Meiko turns things around with a stiff shot. Meiko attempts to capitalize, but Stevie switches directions on her, and catches Satomura straight on the jaw. Stevie tries another pin, and Meiko kicks out, leading to a furious babyface comeback. Meiko hits a Death Valley Driver, and makes the cover for the 1-2-No! Turner kicks out, but Meiko immediately applies the STF, forcing Stevie to tapout.

⁃ In a video package: Joe Coffey and Rampage Brown hype their upcoming Submission or Knockout match.
⁃ In the arena: Saxon Huxley walks that aisle, and he’s in the next match.

Saxon Huxley vs Eddie Dennis

The bell sounds, and both men tie it up right away. Huxley and Dennis go into the corner, where the referee forces a rope break. Back in the center of the ring, both men struggle to gain a power advantage, until Huxley gets rolling with a few slams. Saxon follows up with a big elbow drop to the sternum of Dennis, and fires up on Eddie in the corner. Huxley sizes Dennis up, and misses a big boot, sending himself to the outside. Dennis goes on the chase, and lands a stiff shot on the outside, before tossing Huxley back into the ring for a pin. Saxon kicks out at one, and Dennis immediately grabs a headlock on Huxley. Saxon powers back to his feet, and lands a big strike, before Dennis makes Huxley miss again. Saxon quickly regroups, and drops Eddie in the corner of the ring. Huxley heads over to the other corner, and sizes Dennis up for a big boot. Saxon gets a full head of steam, and connects with the boot, before heading to the outside again. Dennis follows him, and catches another big boot to the face from Huxley, before Saxon heads back into the ring. Saxon rolls Dennis back in the ring before a count out, and continues to stay on the offensive attack, until Dennis stops Huxley dead in his tracks. Eddie nails Divine Proposition from out of nowhere, and applies a pin, but Huxley kicks out on instincts. Both men exchange brutal blows, until Huxley hoists Dennis up in the air, and slams him down for the 1-2-3.

Winner: Saxon Huxley

⁃ After the match: Symbiosis attacks Huxley, and hits Saxon with a triple powerbomb.
⁃ Backstage: Pretty Deadly are shown warming up for their NXT UK Championship defense.

**commercial break**

⁃ In a promo package: Jinny runs down Aoife Valkyrie. Valkyrie also shares her thoughts on Jinny, ahead of next week’s No-Disqualification match.
⁃ Back in the arena: Isla Dawn ominously makes her way down the ramp.

Isla Dawn vs Dani Luna

The referee calls for the match to begin, and more women’s division action is underway. Luna immediately hits a takedown on Dawn, followed by another one. Dawn grabs a handful of hair, but Luna shakes it off. Dawn goes back to the hair again, and Dani begins to show off her impressive power. Luna floors Isla Dawn, and scoops her into the corner, where Dawn grabs for the hair once again. Isla finally capitalizes, and takes full control of the match, reigning down strike after strike. Dawn eventually takes out the legs of Luna, and applies a pin, but Dani is still fighting. Isla grabs a submission hold on Luna, until Dani rolls through for a surprise pin attempt. Dawn kicks out at two, and connects with a big strike on Dani right away. Luna answers right back, and whips Isla into the corner, before nailing a fisherman’s suplex, and scoring a near fall. Dawn shakes it off, and hits consecutive blows to the body of Luna, until dropping Dani with a suplex. Dawn follows up with a cover attempt, and Dani just barely kicks out. Isla tries to put the match away with the Half-Nelson Suplex, but Dani reverses, leading to a brief exchange of blows. Luna eventually plants Isla on the top rope, and both women go back on fourth in the corner, until Dawn rips hair straight out of Luna’s head. Isla seems proud of herself, and stares at her work for to long, allowing Luna to put Dawn away with a sit out power-bomb.

Winner: Dani Luna

⁃ In a video package: Triple H hypes the upcoming NXT UK Championship match at NXT Takeover: 36.

⁃ Back in the arena: Moustache Mountain make their way onto the stage, and their in the next match.

NXT UK Tag Team Championship’s

Moustache Mountain vs Pretty Deadly (c)

After the Championship introductions, Tyler Bate and Sam Stoker kickoff the action. Both men immediately wrestle into the corner, where Bate takes brief control of the match. Bate tries to score a takedown on Stoker, but he can’t get leverage on Sam. Bate finally takes Stoker to the mat, and quickly tags in Trent Seven. Trent briefly overtakes Stoker, until Sam takes out the leg of Seven, and tags in Lewis Howley. Pretty Deadly shows off excellent teamwork, until Howley takes full control of Seven. Trent begins to fire back up, and scores a takedown, followed by a leg drop. Seven tries a cover, but Howley kicks out, and Bate tags in. Tyler hits double knees on Howley, and tries a cover, but Lewis still has to much in the tank. Howley turns the tables on Bate with a shot to the midsection, and makes a blind tag to Stoker. Bate foils the plot, and nails Pretty Deadly with a slight low blow, as the referee is briefly blinded. The action completely breaks down, and both teams fight on the outside, until the referee calms things down. Howley and Bate step back in the ring, where Pretty Deadly begins to grind away at Bate in the corner. Stoker tags back in, and he’s in complete control of Bate with a submission hold on the mat. Howley quickly tags back in, but he’s cut off by Bate, who makes a tag to Seven. Trent comes in on fire, and nearly puts Howley away, but Lewis is still fighting. Seven tries to follow up, and again applies a cover, but Lewis won’t go away. Bate tags back in, and sets up for a suplex on Howley, while Seven hits one on Stoker. Bate and Seven almost seal the deal with a Seven Star Lariat, but Stoker ducks, and turns the match around. Howley runs the ropes, and nails a clothesline on Trent, but Seven hits a clothesline of his own. Both men go down, until Seven crawls for a hot tag to Bate. Tyler nails shot after shot, and hits a suplex on Howley, as Stoker gets a blind tag. Pretty Deadly show off crafty double team work on Seven, until Bate misfires on an attempted top rope maneuver. Bate comes right back with a Tyler Driver ‘97, and nails Howley for the 1-2-NO!! The match continues, and Pretty Deadly picks up a head of steam. Stoker sets up Seven for a double team maneuver, and nails it, before setting up for a second attempt. Howley runs the ropes, and Bate pulls them down from the outside, sending Howley to the floor for a brutal bump. Seven almost scores a victory in the ring, but Stoker kicks out. Bate immediately tags back in, and gets taken out at the knee by Sam. Stoker follows up with a half Boston Crab, and a white towel comes flying into the ring. The referee is distracted by the towel, allowing Lewis Howley to nail Bate with a title. Stoker knocks Seven off of the apron, and tags in Howley, who assists Sam with Spilled Milk for the 1-2-3.

⁃ After the match: Pretty Deadly raise their titles high, as the announce team thanks the viewers for tuning in.
