To promote the upcoming release of "Fighting with my Family," the film based on her life and career, Paige spoke with the New York Post for an interview.
During the discussion, the veteran WWE performer and Total Divas cast member addressed the sex tape leak controversy she went through and the subsequent depression that followed. The article notes that Paige had to be treated for anorexia and her hair started falling out.
"To be publicly humiliated like that was terrible, and I don’t wish that for anyone," Paige said. "I didn’t go to work; I didn’t do anything. I felt so rock bottom."
Paige then spoke about running into a young fan at a grocery store and credited that brief encounter as the motivating factor that ultimately led to her coming out of her intense bout of depression.
"Of course, she didn’t have the internet and thought I was the most beautiful and most successful woman in the world," said Paige. "It opened my eyes to so many things. I was like, 'I’m gonna let videos get in the way of things?' I thought, 'What am I doing?'"
Paige concluded, "I need to be successful for her. My whole journey was supposed to be about inspiring people."
Watch the movie on the inspiring life and career of Paige, "Fighting with my Family," in theaters nationwide starting Friday, February 22nd.
