Penta's AEW Contract Reportedly Expiring Next Week; Will Become Free Agent

-- After months of speculation on his contract status and that of his brother Fenix, AEW star Penta's time with the promotion appears to finally be coming to an end.

-- Earlier this year, it was revealed that the deals of the Lucha Bros were set to expire in the fall of 2024, however, the big caveat was that AEW was likely able to add injury time to the ends of their contacts. Fightfulselect.com reports that AEW ultimately did decide to tack on injury time to their agreements, around the same that they learned that there was communication between the brothers and WWE but that Penta's contract is now ticking down and on its last days.

-- The report adds that sources within AEW have shared that his contract is officially expiring next week and at which time he would effectively become a free agent. The interest from WWE is expected to persist and Penta will also garner significant interest on the indie scene should he become available.
