Pro wrestling veteran and former NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion EC3 announced his departure from the NWA via his official Twitter (X) account. In his statement, EC3 reflected on his successful and defining run with the promotion, which included over a year as the company’s top champion. He expressed his appreciation for the opportunity and reaffirmed the philosophy behind his on-screen persona.
EC3, whose real name is Michael Hunter Hutter, officially signed with the NWA in February 2023 after making his debut at NWA 74 in August 2022. His arrival followed the 2022 merger of his independent promotion, Control Your Narrative, with the NWA. EC3's reign as the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion began at Hard Times 3, where he defeated Tyrus. He held the title for 370 days before losing it to Tom Latimer at NWA 76.
Before capturing the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship, EC3 also won the NWA National Heavyweight Championship at NWA 312 in April 2023, later vacating that title to focus on his pursuit of the top championship. Prior to his tenure in the NWA, EC3 enjoyed significant success in other promotions, including two reigns as the TNA World Heavyweight Champion and four reigns as the WWE 24/7 Champion. He is currently a part of OVW.
